11. Shadows of Avarice - Ron Goodman. ISBN: 978-1-906459-09-3 Price £9.95
Shadows of Avarice tells the story of John Pritchard, a gay Englishman who is driven from England in the sixties by sexual prejudice; he travels to Southern India where he encounters a world of poverty and desperation amongst the young people. He forms a self-help charity for boys which becomes well respected within the community and calls it Orphindi, the organisation relies on its survival from cash supplied by Pritchard as well as funds from Europe and rare help from the local Indian council.
To increase funds he turns to tourism, and accommodates guests in his isolated bungalow by a beautiful lake. Eighteen months into the project he realises the new addition to his business is a money spinner and this spawns imagined riches and greed which in turn leads Pritchard to exploit the youngsters in his care for his own financial benefit.
He forms an association with Dhanker Mitra who is a local millionaire money lender and potential political candidate, Pritchard soon realises that Mitra is as avaricious as he is ruthless, and together they move swiftfully towards riches.
All is not smooth sailing however as they encounter antagonists and a conspiring assistant who threatens their future; feeling besieged and liable to exposure because of the methods used to increase their wealth they realise they stand to lose everything they have thus far gained, and decide to take action which has dramatic and unexpected results.

19. The Crown of Renown - Lt. Col. J.P.Cross OBE, FABI, MIL, BA. ISBN: 978-1-906459-33-8 Price £19.95
The Crown of Renown is a historical novel with a military background, set in the final stages of the Honourable East India Company’s existence. It aims to show how Nepal’s hill men adapted to military conditions, personal calamities and unpredictable circumstances, mostly with resilient stoicism and unquestionable prowess. The period covered sees military action at Bharatpur, Afghanistan, the Punjab, Delhi and north India. Civilian activities, such as a Gurkha bodyguard on a trade mission, and a slave boy who becomes a decorated officer, are also woven into the story. It shows what life was like in the Nepal hills during that period and how unworthy British behaviour fostered the poison that led to the 'Indian Mutiny'.
J P Cross has lived with the Nepalese for virtually all his adult life, from 1944. He is bilingual in Nepali, in which he has a Tribhuwan University BA (Hon), and has walked more than ten thousand miles in the country. He has probably got closer to the Nepalis than any other non-native has. He can count those he knows, and is known by, in the tens of thousands. He now lives permanently in Nepal with his surrogate family who, because he has very limited sight, are also his eyes. In the hills people say he was a Nepali in a previous incarnation and that he and his elder surrogate son were of the same womb – and will be in their next incarnation. Some of his twelve books have been republished in UK, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore and USA.

24. More Deaths Than One. Christopher Elgood. ISBN: 978-1-906459-40-6 Price £12.95
More Deaths Than One is the second book in a trilogy, the first was entitled, Accidental Assassin and is published by The Book Guild, it is available at retail and internet outlets by quoting ISBN number: 9781846240010. Look out for publication of the third book in this series to be published in the future and entitled, The Eager Apprentice. These three books trace the professional development of the main female character from her birth in a mud hut to her seat in the House of Lords.
More Deaths Than One reveals the growth of the book's heroine, Nshila Ileloka. As the story unfolds the reader discovers the book is about the unforseen forces which surround us, as human beings we seek to try and understand them and manipulate them. The practitioners hope to convince the rest of us that if you do THIS - then THAT will happen. Definite proof is always hard to come by.
Nshila Lieloka was befriended in her youth by her tribal witchdoctor and was taught his skills. Given an education and an eventual scholarship to England she combined her newly learnt scientific skills with her darker knowledge. Circumstances arose which made her the most likely person to eliminate, first, a tribal enemy, and, later, a vicious corrupt policeman, in both cases she succeeded and that particular story can be read by buying Chris Elgood's former book entitled Accidental Assassin which is published by The Book Guild.
What better proof of the law of cause and effect can there be? Spells cast, rituals followed, and death achieved. If you do THIS - then THAT will happen.
In her desire to succeed, Nshila was apt to use both scientific and supernatural means. Which of them really achieved her desired ends?
Would Grant Toppley have ventured into the electricity sub-station - and died there - if she had not slipped the knotted cords into his pocket? Would Tetherman's car have burst into flames if she had not destroyed the model car with a blowtorch? If she had not obeyed the ghostly summons of her mentor, would she have met the young man who was to become THE EAGER APPRENTICE? The latter being the title of Chris Elgood's next book in this exciting story which will be available soon, details will be supplied on this website when available. In the meantime why not avail yourself of the opportunity to purchase Accidental Assassin from Amazon and More Deaths Than One from this website so you are well prepared to purchase the follow on - The Eager Apprentice, due to be published in 2009.
